Heirloom Prep Academy was born in Bowie, Maryland, from a vision to create something intentional for the next generation of young women; a space where girls could develop the confidence, character, refinement, and practical skills they would carry throughout their lives.
The name Heirloom was chosen with purpose. An heirloom is something of value passed down from one generation to the next. We believe the same should be true of the lessons that shape a young woman (confidence, character, knowledge, grace, discipline, leadership and the ability to navigate the world with intention). These are valuables of their own, worthy of being cultivated, carried forward and eventually passed on.
Through etiquette, leadership, financial literacy, wellness, essential life skills and community service, Heirloom creates opportunities for young ladies to learn beyond the traditional classroom. Our Preppies are introduced to experiences that broaden their perspectives, strengthen their voices and prepare them to feel confident in spaces both familiar and new.
At Heirloom, we believe in learning through experience. Our Preppies don’t simply learn dining etiquette, they practice it around the table. Leadership extends beyond a lesson into using their voices, making thoughtful decisions, serving others and learning to lead with confidence. From afternoon tea and formal dining to golf, community service, wellness and personal development, our programming gives young ladies opportunities to put what they learn into practice.
As Heirloom continues to grow, we remain grounded in the values upon which our community is built: Excellence, Integrity, Confidence, Leadership, Discipline, Grace, Poise, and Service. Our goal is to cultivate qualities and skills that remain with our Preppies long after their time at Heirloom has ended. Because the most valuable things we pass down aren’t always things. Sometimes, they’re what we teach the generation coming after us.
